Let us introduce
The REAL Jesse Saunders
Jesse Saunders made the first House record. It was inspired the B-side of a bootleg, which was a tape edit of Munich Machine’s “Get On The Funk Train”, Donna Summer’s “Bad Girls”, Lipps Inc’s “Funky Town” and Playback’s “Space Invaders”. He made the bootleg by Mach popular around town and used it as his signature record. Until that fateful day…
One day, someone stole his records. That was of them. So he made his own version. He used that mesmerizing bass-line, the one from “Space Invaders”. Jesse created some hard-hitting tracks using a Roland TR-808 and Jesse Saunders “On & On” was born in December 1983. It was released on January 20, 1984.
